James Simon Russan aka Jamie Cox, is a retired professional boxer who fought from 2007 to 2018. Cox held the Commonwealth light-middleweight title from 2011 to 2012 and before that as an amateur, won a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Although he won that amateur title by a walkover after his would-be opponent pulled out, Cox was a massive favorite to win and critics believed that he would likely have really hurt the guy.
With a very active career despite two short breaks in competition, Cox has an overall record of 25-3 with 14 knockouts and never having been put out himself.
As one would expect, Jamie Cox is a highly technical power puncher with exceptional footwork and head movement. We have seen mixed success from high level boxers who toe the line for the first time in the BKFC, but Cox’s heart and skillset should put him in good company, win or lose, after his debut on June 28 at BKFC 77.
